Tanja Fajon

Tanja Fajon is Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia. She is a leader of SD Slovenia and Vice-President of PES. Previously she was an MEP, firstly elected in 2009 and re-elected in 2014 and 2019. Fajon was Vice-President of the S&D Group and among others played a key role as the rapporteur on visa liberalization for the countries of the Western Balkans. In her mandate as Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Slovenia was elected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2024-2025 term and is making heads in leading a Feminist Foreign Policy.
