Marcel Ciolacu

Marcel Ciolacu is the Leader of PSD Romania and Prime Minister of Romania. He has dedicated his career to public service as Prefect, deputy-Mayor, deputy Prime-Ministers and chair or member of multiple parliamentary commissions. A social-democrat by formation, in the last 30 years he held different positions with increasing levels of responsibility within the party, until becoming, in December 2019, its ad interim President and being elected, in August 2020, as full President of the Social Democratic Party. Under his leadership, PSD won both the last local and general elections and is the largest party in Romania and in the government coalition.
