Andreas Schieder

Andreas Schieder, born in Vienna in 1962, is an Austrian politician and Member of the European Parliament since 2019. His professional career began in the Economic Policy Department of the Chamber of Labour in Vienna (2002-2007), followed by a significant role as International Secretary for SPÖ (2007-2008). Schieder was District Chair for SPÖ in Vienna’s 14th district (2002-2020) and Chair of the Social Democratic Parliamentary Party (2013-2017). His parliamentary journey in the Austrian National Council spanned multiple terms, and he served as State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Finance (2008-2013).
