Yulia Navalnaya

Yulia Navalnaya, freedom fighter and human rights activist from Russia, was born in Moscow on July 24, 1976. She graduated from the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Faculty of International Economic Relations. Along with her husband, the late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, she was actively involved in the fight for democratic changes in Russia. After Alexei Navalny’s death, she announced that she would continue his work.

Today, Yulia Navalnaya is one of the key figures in the Russian protest movement. She serves as the Chairwoman of the Human Rights Foundation and the Chairwoman of the Advisory Board of the Anti-Corruption Foundation. She is very involved in international advocacy on behalf of her constituency — millions of Russians opposed to Vladimir Putin and his war of aggression, fighting for a peaceful, democratic Russia. In this capacity, Yulia appears frequently as a keynote speaker at major international forums, and travels around the planet to meet world leaders and fellow democracy activists. She’s driven by the hope of her late husband that millions of her supporters share: Russia deserves a better future and can and will one day become a happy and prosperous country.
