Dajana Bakić is an activist from Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina with 20 years of experience in queer and feminist movement, as well as politics in the Western Balkans and Europe.
In 2023 she was elected as President of Rainbow Rose, the LGBTIQ+ network within the Party of European Socialists (PES), reflecting her commitment to promoting equality and human rights across Europe. She is an active member of Social Democratic Party of Bosnia & Herzegovina and served as a local Councilwoman in Tuzla City Council.
She currently works as the Operations Manager in Sarajevo Open Centre in Sarajevo, CSO that works on advancing human rights in BiH, emphasizing gender equality and position of LGBTIQ+ persons. Dajana has played a key role in organizing significant events aimed at increasing the visibility and acceptance of the LGBTIQ+ community – she is the founder and former director of the Tuzla Open Center and was one of the founding committee members for BiH Pride March, holding their first pride parade in the Capital, Sarajevo, in 2019.
Her work is based on the belief that collective action and solidarity are key to creating transformative social change.
