FRINGE EVENT – Our Shared Tax Justice Agenda: Connecting Local and European Efforts
Friday, 17 October
15:35 – 16:40, Ontvangkamer
Organisers: Tax Justice Nederland
Across the world, multinationals and the very wealthy still use loopholes and tax havens to avoid paying their fair share. This undermines public services, increases inequality, and erodes trust in governments. As a major financial hub, the Netherlands plays a key role in these global tax flows, and therefore holds an important responsibility to help drive change.
The session opens with the presentation of Oxfam’s new report “An Agenda for EU Tax Justice”, after which we discuss what Europe must do to achieve fair taxation — and how national and European initiatives can connect and reinforce each other.
Together, we’ll explore how to build a tax system that works for everyone, not just a privileged few.
Speakers:
- Bram Joanknecht (Economic justice lead at Oxfam Novib)
- Tove Ryding (Senior policy analyst at Eurodad)
- Luc Stultiens (member of parliament for GroenLinks-PvdA),
- Mikael Leyi (director of Solidar)
